FIRE crews from Wincanton, Castle Cary and Yeovil Fire Stations rushed to respond to a large tractor blaze near Castle Cary.
At around 7.31am this morning (Tuesday, June 17) Fire Control received reports of a tractor on fire near Galhampton, Somerset.
Two fire engines and a water bowser were sent from Wincanton, Castle Cary and Yeovil Fire Stations and on arrival crews confirmed the tractor was “well alight”.

The tractor was extinguished by fire crews using hoses reel jets, a foam jet, breathing apparatus and a thermal image camera.
Once extinguished, fire crews confirmed that the tractor was 20 per cent damaged by fire, which was confined to the engine compartment.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: “Fire control sent 2 fire engines and a water bowser, to a tractor on fire near Galhampton, Somerset. On arrival crews confirmed this tractor was well alight.
“The tractor was 20 per cent damaged by fire, which was confined to the engine compartment. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
