EMERGENCY services have confirmed that a person has been hospitalised following a life-threatening medical emergency in Chard on Thursday.
At 11.38pm on Thursday, June 12, South Western Ambulance service alongside Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to an incident in Foxglove Way, Chard.
The incident involved a Category One Medical Emergency, which involves a life-threatening illness or injury from an incident.

Fire crews from Axminster station were rushed to the scene alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust Crews.
Once fire crews arrived, they carried out basic first aid treatment, whilst also conducting casualty observations and providing reassurance to the casualty.
Ambulance crews arrived at the scene later in two double-crewed ambulances and fire crews provided medical support before leaving the casualty with the paramedics.
An Axminster Fire Station spokesperson said: “Crews remained on scene a while longer assisting the ambulance crews before clearing from this incident.”
The person ended up being taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton by ambulance.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 23.28hrs on Thursday, June 12 to an incident in Chard.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, and a first responder to the scene.
“We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital.”
