SPRING came to the Memorial Hall for a little while when the club held its February workshop.
Members and visitors enjoyed watching Maria from Sue’s Flowers demonstrate how to arrange spring flowers in various containers of varying shapes.
Maria’s design was an ‘all round’ but members were invited to choose their design. Maria showed them how to use sisal and moss to conceal the mechanics and the effect gave a very spring-like finish.
Anne Goody thanked Maria for her time and for helping the ladies with their designs.
The next meeting is on Thursday, March 5, and features a demonstration by Lisa Fowler from Tatworth – the title is Spring is Sprung.
The club looks forward to meeting Lisa as she competed at Chelsea 2014 and gained a Gold and Best in Show. Members hope she will tell them about her day at the Chelsea Flower Show.
The competition is Blooming Spring and doors open at 1.30pm for a 2pm start. Visitors are always welcome at the meetings – the cakes with a cup of tea are delicious.
