A CHARLES Dickens inspired play, The Haunting, will be performed by Ilminster Entertainments Society next month at the Warehouse Theatre.

Described as a journey “to the very edge of terror,” the play sees two men make their way through an ancient crumbling mansion stumble across a dark and terrifying secret set to change their lives forever.

This classic tale, which has drawn similarities with The Woman in Black, mixes all the ingredients of the great Victorian ghost stories.

The play, directed by Philip Wells, runs from Wednesday to Saturday, September 10-13.

Tickets are priced £9 adults, £8 senior citizens and £7 children and students. Performances start at 7.30pm. To book, call the box office on 07943- 779880 or visit Lanes Garden Shop.

The Warehouse in Ilminster will re-open for autumn on Monday.
