ILTON 1sts fell to a narrow six-run defeat against Cheddar on Saturday in the Somerset Division of the West of England Cricket League.
Ilton did well in the field and bowled Cheddar out for 110 with Damian Price and Andrew Mason both taking three wickets apiece.
But it was a day for the bowlers and Cheddar’s Tom Childs and Luke Parfitt took four wickets apiece as Ilton were dismissed for 104 in the 33rd over.
Ilton had looked to be nearing victory with Mason at the crease, but he was the last wicket to fall having made 21.
Ilton are sixth in the table. They play host to Yeovil-based Westland Sports this Saturday.
