CHARD Town Reserves welcomed Sidmouth Town to the lane on Saturday – a team unbeaten since Chard defeated them back in December - and completed the double with a 2-1 success in this Division Two fixture in the Devon and Exeter League.
Chard then took the lead after good build-up led to Joe Carbin setting up Steve Every who scored under pressure.
Chances were coming thick and fast for the home side but none were taken so they went in at half time just one goal to the good.
Sidmouth, doing their best to take advantage of the slope, won a soft free kick was given just outside the box.
The shot took a massive deflection off the wall and wrong- footed for an equaliser.
With a draw looking the most likely result, a back pass was chased down by Steve Every.
The keeper kicked it at the Chard forward and reacted quickest as the ball went loose.
