THE England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed the men’s county and women’s regional domestic fixtures for next summer.

2024 will include 22 men’s and women’s T20 double headers, while the Charlotte Edwards Cup has been expanded to include 10 group-stage matches for each team.

Five domestic trophies are set to be decided in September while the Vitality Blast will be staged almost entirely on Thursday nights, Friday nights and at weekends following the release of the 2024 domestic schedule.

For Somerset and Western Storm, it means another very busy Summer ahead.

County Championship

Somerset begin the County Championship with seven matches played from Friday to Monday in April and May.

The first two fixtures are away at Kent and Surrey before we get our home campaign underway with the visit of Nottinghamshire.

The competition will return with back-to-back rounds in June and July, when we travel to Trent Bridge and then welcome Warwickshire to Taunton. There will be two County Championship rounds at the end of August before the crucial title run-in during September.

A number of changes to regulations and playing conditions, including the rewarding of eight points for a draw in the County Championship have been agreed ahead of the 2024 season.

Vitality Blast

Somerset will start the defence of our T20 crown against last year’s beaten finalists Essex at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Friday May 31. Western Storm will also take on Sunrisers in the Charlotte Edwards Cup as part of the Blast Off double header.

The big Vitality Blast derby matches against Gloucestershire will take place at the Cooper Associates County Ground on Sunday July 7 and the Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol on Friday June 21.

We will also face beaten semi-finalists Surrey, Kent Spitfires, Hampshire Hawks, Middlesex, Glamorgan and Sussex Sharks.

In 2024 the competition is split into two blocks, with the group stages taking place May, June and July, with the knock out stages being held in September.

Finals Day will be held at Edgbaston on Saturday September 14.

This competition will be preceded by two National County fixtures against Cornwall and Devon.

Western Storm

The Cooper Associates County Ground will host a number of Western Storm fixtures in 2024.

In addition to the double header on May 31, Storm will also face Central Sparks in the Charlotte Edwards Cup at Taunton on Wednesday May 22.

They will face South East Stars on Wednesday May 1, Central Sparks on Monday August 26 and Thunder on Saturday September 7 in the Rachel Heyhoe-Flint Trophy.
