THE first round of the Coronation Cup 2023/24 took place at the weekend as two fixtures kicked off the competition.
First up, Chard United were winners in a goalfest at home to Misterton as the final score was 7-2.
The match was full action, large parts of which came from the Chard front line who were ruthless in the ninety minutes.
Elsewhere, Yetminster United FC defeated Combe St Nicholas Reserves 8-0 in the other fixture in the cup competition.
Six other teams were handed a bye for the first round and will now join in the quarter final stage to be played on October 7.
In Perry Street and District League Premier Division action, Shepton Beauchamp won 2-0 against Halstock.
And in the other result South Petherton lost 1-3 at home against Forton Rangers.
In Division One, Crewkerne Rangers drew 2-2 with South Petherton Res, and Donyatt United won 10-0 at home to Charmouth FC.
Ilminster Town Reserves won 3-1 over Forton Rangers Reserves, Netherbury lost at home, 0-4 to West & Middle Chinnock and finally Pymore drew 0-0 with Misterton Reserves.
