North Petherton 2nds 16-17 Chard 2nds
IT was a fiercly fought contest in this match between North Petherton 2nds and Chard 2nds at the weekend.
In the end, the visitors picked up a narrow victory, adding to the win the Chard Firsts picked up over North Petherton Firsts on the same day.
Tries came from Billy Vernon, Finn Shoemark, Warren Lewis and a conversion from Ieuan Watkins for Chard.
In the match, either team did enough to earn a victory but it was the visitors who defended strongly towards the end to keep out North Petherton.
The result means Petherton lie in sixth place in the Counties 3 Tribute Somerset South while Chard move up to third.
So far this season, the North Petherton Seconds have played 13 games, won six and lost seven for a total of 33 league points.
