THE Perry Street League was decimated on Saturday, with all but one of the fixtures postponed following last week's persistent rain.

In the only match to survive, Chard Rangers Res beat Misterton Res 2-0 away in Division Four. The blankout elsewhere meant Premier Division title holders South Petherton missed the chance to go three points clear at the top of the table.

Although it is still early days, Petherton are best placed in what has proved to be a tight division.

White Horse are still the only unbeaten side, but they are back in eighth position.

Only nine points separates top from eleventh, while Chard Town Colts, who have picked up five points, have had their purple patches.

Saturday's postponements was bad news for Misterton in Division One - they are facing a hige fixture backlog after all their cup success and have so far only completed three league games.

They are the only unbeaten outfit, although the top five sides have lost either one or two matches.

Hinton are struggling at the bottom, having leaked too many goals, while Pymore, Charmouth, Thorncombe and South Petherton Res are all having to work hard for points.

Millwey Rise lead Division Two, although they have been checked in recent weeks.Chard Utd and Combe A are both in the running for one of the two promotion spots.

West and Middle Chinnock, in their first season in the league, have picked up some useful wins after a slow start.Shepton Beauchamp are finding life hard, but their reserve team are top of Division Three.

White Horse Res and Forton Res have only lost one game each, while Norton have been banging in goals for pleasure at the rate of around four a game.

Farway Res are five points clear at the top of Division Four, although Lyme Regis Bantams and Millwey Rise Res are breathing hard down their neck with games in hand.
