THERE was only one event for Chard Road Runners last weekend, with Stevie Potter out to finish her Sprint Triathlon Season with a bang.
She headed to the Buskin Weymouth Classic Triathlon, which comprised a 1,500m open water swim, 40k cycle and a 10k run.
With the waters calm Potter got off to a good start, although she got a little tangled at times in the field of 144, exiting the water in a time of 24:06.
With a good transition, it was into the saddle for the 40k cycle into the Dorset countryside.
Potter was keeping good pace, crossing into the next transition in 01:19:07, and with the weather holding it was now out onto the final leg with a 10k run through the nature reserve.
Potter was picking up places, and after the last hill it was a smooth downhill sprint to the finish.
She crossed the line in a combined time of 02:31:51, taking third female and second in her age category (38th out of 144 overall) – a great end to her season.
