THIS year’s Isle Brewers fete saw more people than ever attend and more money raised than ever before.

The event, which was held at All Saints Church, raised more than £1,600 for the church’s funds and was a record-breaking event, with the highest number of people attending and the biggest total sum ever raised.

All funds raised at the event will now go to the All Saints Church Fund to help complete repairs.

Delia Pearmund, the church warden, said it had been one of the best fetes for a number of years, and thanked everyone for attending and those who helped organise the event.

She said: “It went really well and we were delighted.

“We had more people than we have ever had before.

“We had a different team helping to organise and advertise it which made a real difference.

“The church looked beautiful with the flower festival inside, and the church yard looked great as it had been really cleared up before this big event of the year.

“It was a massive community effort and we don’t bring in stall holders so everyone with a stall was there from the village.

“We had more than 20 people helping on the stalls and we had a lot of games and competitions as well.

“We have at the moment raised £1,600 but it will be more than that.

“It is great because we only have 62 houses in the village.

“It has been a fete of some type for many many years, perhaps even 100 years, but it has been running within the church yard for about 20 years. This is the largest amount of money we have ever got.”

Money raised will go into the church’s fund to help it continue running while the staff continue to apply for grants to complete fabric repairs.
