PARENTS of Hinton St George pupils went back to school last week for the Learn Together morning.
Laura Stradling, Year 1 teacher at Hinton St George CE First School, said: "This term’s theme was Maths and parents were able to access a range of engaging activities that encouraged children to be independent learners.
"The activities included playing in the Hinton Café where the children were able to select the correct coin to match an amount shown on a price tag or to use their knowledge of money to make the amount, selecting a range of coins, as if they were in a real shop environment.
"Addition and subtraction calculation methods were demonstrated through a number of practical activities, which included the rolling of giant dice and adding the numbers together.
"Both parents and children enjoyed this experience and are looking forward to their next Learn Together morning where they will be able to access knowledge of how we learn in another curriculum area."
