A FLORAL design workshop in Combe St Nicholas was awash with Christmas cakes - but not the type that put on any inches.
Residents turned out at the village hall to watch a step-by-step demonstration before they put their creative hats on and produced some floral cake-like decorations that looked good enough to eat.
One of the workshops participants, Liz Stevens, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and am really pleased with what I made. Floral cakes are perfect gifts, I will definitely be making some to give to friends.”
“The whole experience was fabulous and great fun. Our tutor was so helpful and gave us all some great tips, I will definitely be coming again,” added Kim Hill.
Tutor Jackie Nicholls, from Ashville Design, said: “What is so exciting about floral design is that there are no boundaries. And best of all, you don’t need any experience to have a go.
“It’s always great fun to do something different - not only at Christmas, but throughout the year. I am so proud of everyone who came along and took home a floral cake they were really pleased with.”
