DARING fundraisers for the new St Andrew’s Primary School at Chardstock have plunged nearly £8,600 into the coffers.
Parents Karl Ingarfield, Will Harris, Vince Conroy, Rob Bale, Paul Hansford and Andrea Richards, along with the chairman of governors’ son-in-law, Brendan Wellman, and George Inn landlady Carol Gallagher, last year took part in a sponsored parachute jump and raised a mammoth £8,588.45.
The school’s annual May fair this Saturday, May 9, will be the last at the old building.
Staff and children will move into the new school on June 8, and fundraising will continue with a ‘Big Breakfast’ on Father’s Day and a pamper evening at the end of June.
At present all money raised for the new school is being match-funded by the Diocese of Exeter and the total stands at £17,176.90.
