THE Ilminster Tennis Club last Monday to present the tennis club with two awards.
The club was named Somerset winner in the LTA Tennis Awards 2024.
Somerset LTA chairman, Andy Fay, visited the Ilminster Bowling and Tennis Club on Monday (March 11).
Jeremy Searle, the tennis club secretary, was presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award, and Gill Dunn, the tennis club chair, accepted the Club of the Year award on behalf of the Club.
The morning event was well attended by members who afterward enjoyed celebrating with Pimms, strawberry & cream cake, and tennis.
This was a fantastic achievement for the club and thanks were extended to all members for their support.
The LTA Tennis Awards 2024 provides the opportunity to recognise the achievements of an individual or organisation who have made a significant contribution to tennis and winners are selected via a nomination process.
Jeremy and the tennis club will now go forward to the regional awards stage, and, if successful, to the national stage.
