SHEPTON Beauchamp Church School welcomed Father Geoff into the school for the children’s Remembrance service.

The pupils were able to share their knowledge of Remembrance and their worries about the wars taking place in the world now.

Henry from Year 5 said: “It is sad about the wars in Israel and Ukraine. We hope they will end soon.”

The children then crossed over the road to Shepton’s village memorial, where they laid the school wreath.

Today (Friday, November 10), the school is hosting its family assembly in St Michael's Church, with families joining the children.

A number of poignant songs and poems have been rehearsed. The community is also welcome to attend at 2.45pm.

Executive headteacher Connel Boyle said: “In Shepton Beauchamp the whole community comes together to mark this event.

"We are so proud of how reflective and thoughtful our children are, particularly their empathy for wars in our world going on now and their linking of these feelings to our nation during the First and Second World Wars.”
