A FLORAL demonstration with a festive theme will be held next month to support Ilminster's Christmas lights.

The floral demonstration will be held on Friday, November 11 from 9.30am to 1pm at The Warehouse Theatre in Ilminster.

It will feature more than 40 Christmas designs on stage, plus refreshments and a raffle.

The demonstration will be hosted by Angie Blackwell, the owner of Cottage Flowers (Jordans Courtyard).

The town's Christmas lights will be switched on the following week on the evening of Friday, November 18.

Angie said: “The lights play an important part in the town’s preparation for Christmas.

“The Lights Committee does a tremendous job in terms of the on-going maintenance throughout the year of the wiring and the bulbs, as well as all the installation and dismantling which is required for the display.

“Over the years display has grown and it is a great attraction to the local communities, which helps to promote the town and its facilities.”

Cottage Flowers recently won the Best Florist award for the Somerset, Wiltshire, and Bristol area at the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2022.

Tickets for the festive flower demonstration will cost £15 and include light refreshments.

They are available to purchase by visiting Cottage Flowers or by phoning 01460 53020.
