AS PART of Ilminster’s Victorian Evening festivities, the Ilminster Arts Centre is inviting visitors to savour delicious homemade mince pies and warming mulled wine after watching the Christmas lights switch-on.

The town will come alive with a traditional Victorian feel and the arts centre will be no exception.

There will be delicious treats to enjoy, Christmas gifts to buy for your loved ones and the festive feel will be complete with live music.

A spokesperson for the arts centre said: “The sociable ambience of the Meeting House is the ideal place to rendezvous with friends and family after you’ve ‘done the town’.

“Browse and buy unique, handmade Christmas gifts from the Craft Shop, and enjoy some festive live music.

“There will be fine art to admire in the gallery, courtesy of the talented artists from the Made in Glastonbury group, whose exhibition of the same name runs until November 26.

“The Gallery Café will also be serving tea, coffee and cakes so there will be a good choice of refreshments available for hungry visitors.”

The Victorian Evening is one of the most eagerly anticipated dates on the Ilminster town calendar.

It takes place on Friday, November 18.

There will be live music and events taking place across the town throughout the day. The shops will also be staying open late with shopkeepers planning to dress up in traditional Victorian outfits.

Go and enjoy the festive fun at the arts centre, from 6pm onwards.

Entry to the event is free.
