THERE are three great folk acts to enjoy at Ilminster Arts Centre next month.

Jess Vincent is an extraordinary young songwriter from Wiltshire with a unique and gorgeous voice that has been compared to Kate Bush.

Utterly captivating live, she delivers her songs with subtle arrangements, on guitar, baritone ukulele, harmonium and shruti box.

Hannah Cumming is a young musician whose work has already begun to attract attention.

Border Tales is a trio from Milverton, near Taunton. Their set features a selection of traditional, contemporary and self-penned songs. Border Tales are Jane Newton-Yeo (vocals), Trevor Lloyd (guitars, mandolin, vocals) and Paul Ewings (guitars, bouzouki, vocals). Trevor and Paul hail from Exeter and have played music together on and off for many years.

The trio or acts will be performing on Friday, August 19 from 8pm.

Tickets £10 can be booked on 01460 54973. For more information, visit themeetinghouse.org.uk.
