It may be winter but the sun can still burn, this is the warning after a glass item on a windowsill sparked a fire at an Ilminster flat on Thursday.
Fire crews from Illminster and Chard were called out to Quantock Court, East Street, Illminster after a report of a fire.
A fire and rescue spokesman said that crews reported a small fire involving the lounge which had been "caused by a glass object on the windowsill".
While fire damage and 20% smoke damage was caused to the room. The fire was out on the arrival of the fire service, crews ventilated the property. The cause of the fire was accidental.
