THE Rotary Club of Ilminster says it is thrilled to have been invited to participate in this year’s Ilminster Midsummer Experience events.

President-elect Linda Vijeh said: “I was delighted to be invited to meet organiser Michael Fry-Foley to look at ways in which Rotary could actively participate and contribute towards the continuing success of IMEx, which is now in its eighth year.

“Because the focus for our Rotary club this year has been on more community engagement this seemed the ideal opportunity for us to get much more involved.

“On the Sunday we are planning to hold one big festive Somerset-themed lunch in the big marquee, complete with cider kindly donated by Perry’s cider.

“Local Scouts and Guides have offered their support too, which will help to ensure that as many people get involved as possible.

“The weekend also coincides nicely with a visit by our twin town in France, Riec-sur-Belon, which has been invited to come and join us.”

The event will runs from June 11-14.
