THERE was an evening of celebration and achievement at Wadham School on Thursday.

High-achievers from Crewkerne and Ilminster were invited to a special ceremony at the school where parents and governors were also in attendance.

Chairman of the governors Stuart Shepherd said: "The evening went very well, the school is also doing very well and is on of the best performing schools in the county without a doubt and we enjoyed  a particularly good night on Thursday.

"It's great for the pupils to be recognised for their achievements and it's good to see that a lot of them have decided to stay on. Even I have become a student at the school doing a history A-level to keep my brain active."
