A CREWKERNE man who allegedly assaulted his former partner when she tried to get him to leave her house has been ordered to stand trial before Somerset Magistrates.
Matthew Bowditch was visiting the victim, and when an argument developed and she tried to push him out of the front door.
However when she turned her back on the defendant he was said to have kicked her in the back of her leg.
Bowditch, 32, of Goulds Brook Terrace, pleaded not guilty to assaulting his ex by beating her during the incident in Crewkerne on September 17 when he appeared before the special domestic violence court at Yeovil.
He was released on bail with conditions not to contact the complainant and must stand trial on November 28.
