CHEQUES totalling over £3,000 were given out at a special presentation evening last week for the Chardstock Street Fair.
The street fair, which was held in September, was a great success with performances from ‘The Barrow Boys’, Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists, and a fire show from AD Tree Pirate, AKA Captain Chainsaw!
The presentations were: £1,000 to Cardiac Risk in the Young; £500 to Chardstock Youth Club; £250 to Chardstock St Andrew’s Primary School; £200 to Chard RFC U-15s and U-16s; and £100 to St John Ambulance, Chardstock Christmas presents and tree, St Andrew’s Church tree felling fund, Chardstock Parish Plan, Chardstock Historical Records Group, Devon Air Ambulance, CHSW, RNLI, Four Aces Bikers for Charity; £50 each went to St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice, Chardstock Parish Newsletter and Chardstock St Andrew’s Allsorts.
Street fair organisers wish to thank the owners of The George in Chardstock for the use of the skittle alley, and all the supporters who made the fair possible.
Chardstock Street Fair will return in September 2010.
