A COMMUNITY hub is organising a series of events to celebrate its second anniversary.
The Chard Community Hub’s event will take place on May 31 from 2pm to 5pm The free event will include, kids’ activities, refreshments, face painting, arts & crafts, live music from 4pm.
The centre, which also provides help with its community fridge, is run by volunteers who also help residents with general inquiries.
The fridge provides tinned food, cooked meat, fresh vegetables, and other food items, but also hygiene products, and shampoos.
During the Covid pandemic, its food boxes helped around 138 families a month.
Last year, the Chard Community Hub has launched an online fundraiser to raise £2,000 needed to provide a wide range of different services to residents.
The hub, which was set up in May 202, was originally operating on Fore Street.
Earlier this year, the hub moved into larger premises at the Boden Centre on Boden Street.
