CULTURALLY Chard is celebrating the last three years of activities and events by releasing a short film.

Chard Town Council, Somerset Art Works, and Somerset Council, on behalf of a consortium of local partners, were awarded a grant from Historic England as part of the Chard High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) Cultural Programme.

Over the past three years, creative and community organisations in Chard have been working together to develop and deliver Culturally Chard, supporting, developing, and delivering over 140 events, multiple projects, and partnerships in the town.

Have a look at their three-minute film to get a taste of what it’s all been about.

Culturally Chard celebrates the local character, culture, history, and heritage of Chard, aiming to make the town a more attractive, engaging, and vibrant place for people to live, work, and spend time in.

It is now moving forward with the newly formed Culturally Chard Network starting this April, to continue bringing the community together through heritage, arts, and music.

If this sounds like something you would like to get involved with, visit culturallychard.org for more information.

Culturally Chard was initiated through the Chard High Street Heritage Action Zone cultural programme, funded by Historic England, Arts Council England and the National Heritage Memorial Fund, Spring 2021- Spring 2024.
