A DRAGON parade to celebrate St George’s Day will return to Chard later this month.
Chard Town Council decided at a full council meeting last month that there will be a second parade following last year’s success.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 21.
A spokesperson said: “The Mayor of Chard, Councillor Garry Shortland announced at Chard Town Council’s full council meeting on Monday, March 18 there will be a second dragon parade to celebrate St Georges day.
“Following last year’s successful parade that included St George and his maiden on horseback followed by a horde of dragons made by local children and adults alike the Mayor invites all of Chard residents to join into the parade which will leave the Guildhall at 2.30pm on Sunday, April 21 to arrive at St Marys church for a service.
“Following the service there will be an array of stalls to peruse in the church grounds and also a display of dragon artwork, created for the Chard Together event held earlier this month.”
