After raising sea trout during half term, Acorn Academy released them into the river at Synderford Bridge.
Several parents and children were in attendance on March 25.
Andy Locke, a member from the Axe Vale Rivers Association, provided assistance.
A spokesperson for the Axminster primary school said: "We can't wait to do this again next year!".
