THE Lord Lieutenant attended the Chard Together event and said he had “the most uplifting experience”.

Mohammed Saddiq was at the event that celebrated the town’s diversity.

A message shared by the office of The Lord Lieutenant read: “I had the most uplifting experience during my attendance at the Chard Together event held at the Guildhall in Chard.

“Over 800 people from the local community attended the event to celebrate the rich diverse cultures of Chard.”

The free event took place on Saturday, March 9, and featured art, music, dance, and cuisine from around the world.

Residents and visitors immersed themselves in the rhythmic beats and enchanting melodies of traditional music and dance performances from different cultures.

They could also indulge their taste buds with a mouth-watering array of dishes from around the world.

From spicy Asian delicacies to savoury European treats, there was something to satisfy every palate.

Chard Together is a mesmerizing fusion of art, music, dance, and delectable cuisine from various corners of the globe, with a theme of dragons around the world.
