ON Boxing Day (December 26, 2023), Chard RFC hosted its annual match in front of a good sized crowd at Essex Close.
A team representing Chard RFC took on a team representing Holyrood Old Boys in what was a spirited affair.
Played as mixed ability teams the supporters were well entertained in a high scoring game that finished 50 points apiece.
The match kicked off at 2pm to allow for the Christmas Day meals to settle a bit more and in the match the quality of attacking rugby was top drawer.
Afterwards, the two sides enjoyed a few drinks to celebrate and the atmosphere at the club was in the true festive spirit.
Chard RFC said after the match: "A big thank you to Dave Mealing for refereeing and to all those who took part and came along and supported.
"We enjoyed seeing everyone at the club for our Pre New Years Eve party with The Headrush."
