BLACKDOWN Acapella last Thursday (July 27) presented a donation of £500 to Target Ovarian Cancer from the proceeds of their recent sell out show held in May at the Chard Guildhall.

Helping with the presentation were Jill King from the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers, Mayor Cllr Garry Shortland and Mayoress Judy Addicott, along with Kirstie Spencer, the musical director of Blackdown Acapella and the full chorus.

The donation was made possible by all Blackdown Acapella’s supporters who travelled far and wide to see their show in May, to the show sponsor James Planning and Development Services, to MC Annette Badland and to the chorus members, who not only put on a fabulous show but worked hard selling tickets, baking cakes and obtaining amazing raffle prizes.

Target Ovarian Cancer targets what is important to stop ovarian cancer devastating lives and Annette Badland a trustee of the charity.

Blackdown Acapella, an all-female acapella chorus, rehearses every Thursday at 7pm in the Chard Guildhall.
