MEMBERS of the Chard and Crewkerne After Stroke Group held a surprise celebration day to mark leaders Jenny Fielder and Chris Williams 30 years of service to the Group.

The day started with a short period of reflection on the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

President Peter Hardwill, of Crewkerne Rotary Club, then presented Jenny and Chris with a cheque for £250 saying that his fellow Rotarians appreciated all the work that the Group did in supporting stroke victims and their families.

The day’s celebrations then began with recollections about the activities and excursions that had taken place during the 30 years, together with reminiscences about friends no longer with us.

Jenny and Chris were presented with a number of gifts from members including engraved vases, flowers and albums in which members and their families had written their thoughts.
