AN ILMINSTER school opened its swimming pool for the summer season.

Children from Greenfylde Primary School and other schools near Ilminster enjoyed splashing about in the pool after it was opened on April 22.

The school is opening up the pool to children in Chard and Ilminster for swimming lessons over the summer.

Zoe King from Swim South West, said: “We are very excited to be opening again at Greenfylde school pool after the Easter holidays where our teachers Ben and Becky are looking forward to meeting new and former pupils from Ilminster, Chard and neighbouring Somerset areas.

“The lessons cater for swimmers of all levels from age three up to eleven years of age in small groups to promote effective progress.

“It will be great to see the children getting back in the water over the summer.”
