A CAFE in Chard is celebrating after being named the regional winner of a prestigious competition.
Eleos on Fore Street has made it through to the final round of Britain's Best Cafe, and will now compete against the other 13 winners to be crowned the best.
Nat Thomson, who owns the cafe, said he hopes winning the title will put the town back on the map.
To get this far, residents had to go online and get voting to make sure the cafe beat off competition from the other 400 cafes across the country who had entered.
Now the 14 finalists and their guests will be invited to a celebratory lunch in London in November.
There the national winner will be announced and presented with a trip for two to New York City for four nights, including a meal at the Famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner.
