FASHION met with fundraising at the Guildhall as a catwalk event raised money for Avishayes School.

Money raised by the event, which was held on Monday evening in Fore Street in Chard, is still being counted.

The organisers were made up of a team from the Avishayes School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) and from Travelling Trends:, which Julie Pike, Sharon Miller, Kerry Bowles, Michelle Perry, Clare Gage and Millie Rickard.

One of the organisers, Clare Ms Gage of the Avishayes School PTFA (parents, teachers and friends association), said: “It was a good night.

"We did it two years ago and decided to do it again. We sold about 70 tickets.

“We will probably skip a year and do it again the year after.

“I would like to thank the PTFA, the girls that modelled, and the people that came.”

Kerry Ms Bowles of Travelling Trends, who helped organise the event, said: “It was all brilliant.

“We nearly sold 80 tickets and it was a good night.

“They (the PTFA) keep all the money. We just offer the fundraising platform.

"We bring all the clothes and equipment, and they provide the models and the venue.”

The PTFA raise around £3,000 per year. The next fundraising event is the summer fete, which is being held on June 10.
