HOLYROOD Academy student Cameron Adams made staff sit up and notice her when she brought to their attention her use of the school bins!
Cameron and her friends, Robyn, Ellie, Hollie, Emma, Sophie and Tia were all keen to make the Academy site more eco-friendly after realising they were carelessly discarding their used, plastic drinks bottles into regular waste bins.
After careful thought, a smart presentation and talks with teachers, the girls persuaded Holyrood to invest in the future by installing recycling bins across the whole site.
Cameron said: “I was so disappointed that I kept throwing my old bottles into the bins when at home I would have recycled them.
“My friends said they took theirs home to recycle them so we decided it was time to get Holyrood to be more eco-friendly!”
