THE principal of Holyrood Academy in Chard went along to Neroche Primary School to be quizzed by future students and their parents.

Martin Brook was delighted to accept the invitation to visit the school in Broadway and provide an informal Q&A session about life at Holyrood.

Neroche headteacher Connel Boyle welcomed Mr Brook and a group of students to the weekly family assembly before the Holyrood principal then talked of their shared vision for children’s education in Somerset.

Mr Brook and Mr Boyle both agreed that they have high expectations of their students and strive to encourage them to achieve the very best they can at all times.

To showcase the strength of musical opportunity at Holyrood, year seven student Isabella Swarbrick performed a stunning song for the audience as she played her guitar.

The younger children were hugely impressed at her talent and she was inundated afterwards with further requests.

Past pupils from Neroche, Soraya Rowswell and Josh Marsden, also spoke in detail to the pupils about life at Holyrood in Year 8 and answered questions from the children who wanted to know more!

Mr Brook ended the assembly by welcoming all the Year 6 students who are progressing to Holyrood in September, saying he was looking forward to getting to know them in the years to come.
