CLUBS from Chard and Ilminster had a ball at the 49th Taunton Carnival on Saturday.
Among those to pick up honours were Harlequin CC which won The Taunton Hospital Cup in the Feature category with its entry Tortuga. Eclipse CC’s Dead Men Tell No Tales came second.
In the Tableau category, Gemini CC stormed to success with its Transformers entry, pipping Unicorn CC into second.
In the Comic class, One Plus One CC won with its Summit Nunny entry and Poppe Inne CC came second.
Chard’s Club 2000 won the children’s tableau/feature entry with El Nino and in the open walking entries Andy Tizzard came second with Whiz Pop Bang Bang and Judy Williams came third.
In the single juvenile walking entries, Lorna Stephenson came second and Nancy Stephenson was third.
Cousins CC won the Group on Foot category with its entry Wonderland Shuffle and Xtreme CC won the walking open category with Hear Me Roar.
In the majorettes category, Merriott Majorettes came second and Chard Goldstars third.
