A DEEP clean of Chard town centre is taking place this week as smokers across the region are encouraged not to drop their cigarette litter.
Chard Town Council started putting the anticigarette litter campaign into action on Monday with council workers using mechanical sweepers to deep clean the town centre.
Workers supplied by the Probation Service taking part in the Community Payback Scheme are supporting them.
