PEOPLE planning to enjoy the Queen's Diamond Jubilee later this year can take advantage of a new 'one-stop shop' being offered at South Somerset District Council.
The four-day celebratory weekend takes place on June 2-5, and as the Jubilee approaches the council has launched its own information desk packed full of essential information about the spectacular free music and fireworks event at Yeovil Recreation Centre.
The council's Jubilee web page will be regularly updated as more information is received.
There is also a map showing all the various events happening across the district.
The council's leisure and culture spokesman Cllr Sylvia Seal, said: "The Diamond Jubilee will be the ideal opportunity to bring communities together.
"Whether you're planning a large scale event or a small street party, we'd like people to let us know so we can include it on our map.
"This promises to be an exciting weekend in South Somerset with all sorts of events planned.
"We're expecting around 8,000 people at the music and fireworks event at Yeovil Recreation Centre on June 2, so that promises to be spectacular.
"The weekend will also create a lasting legacy when our Countryside team plant Jubilee oak trees at Yeovil Country Park and Chard Reservoir Local Nature Reserve."
