PROBLEMS with unpleasant smells were reported in South Petherton earlier this month.
A stench of sewerage was picked up outside the David Hall on Saturday, April 9, from South Street down to Prigg Lane and was particularly bad when the venue was screening its matinee.
The environmental health department were visited the site on Monday afternoon but were unable to detect a smell at the time, but a number of people agreed there had been problems with unpleasant smells.
Three drain covers have been sealed and an odour-meter will be installed within the next two weeks to try to find the exact source of the smell.
