SOUTH Somerset and the rest of the county is bracing itself as the Government prepares to announce the biggest cuts in the nation's history.
The results of the Strategic Defence Review are due to be announced at lunchtime today.
The Ministry of Defence budget is expected to be cut by around 8% and that could have implications for RNAS Yeovilton and AgustaWestland.
Other MoD organisations are waiting to see how the cuts will effect them.
Tomorrow will see far reaching cutbacks, with county and district councils already preparing for savings of up to 40% as the Coalition Government aims to bring the nation's spiralling debt under control.
