A MAN in his 30s has been arrested following a burglary at a Martock food bank.
The Martock Christian Fellowship food bank, which is located on Church Street, was broken into overnight on Monday, September 4/Tuesday, September 5.
The food bank provides much-needed supplies for those facing food poverty and struggling to make ends meet.
The man was arrested in Martock yesterday afternoon (Saturday, September 9).
He will now remain in police custody whilst enquiries continue.
Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson from the South Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team said: "We’ve arrested a man following a burglary at a Somerset food bank.
"The Martock Christian Fellowship food bank on Church Street was broken into overnight Mon 4/ Tuesday, September 5.
"A man in his 30s was arrested in Martock this afternoon and is now in police custody. Enquiries continue."
Avon and Somerset Police has been contacted for a comment.
