Families, friends and old pupils of Chard School enjoyed a 'very moving' Remembrance Service on Friday.

Taking place on November 11 in the Chapel, with personal family war memories, poetry and music from all the Prep classes as they remembered those men and women who have fallen in the line of duty, including pupils at the school.

The 'Roll of Honour' was read by Old Cerdic Brab Hallowes. At the end of the service, the Exhortation was read by Headteacher Katie Hill and was followed by a minute’s silence.

Mrs Hill commented that it was “A very poignant service, lead beautifully by our older pupils.”

Earlier in the week the younger pupils learnt about Remembrance Day and the meaning behind the poppies we wear by taking part in a Remembrance Activity Day. At 11am on the Friday, the whole school came together in the playground to observe the two minute silence.
