HUNDREDS of vintage tractors and other pieces of agricultural equipment were on show at the Dillington House Estate near Ilminster at the weekend.

Yesterday's Farming, an annual event organised by the South Somerset Agricultural Preservation Club (SSAPC), was held on Saturday and Sunday (August 20 and 21).

It featured tractors and other heavy machinery; harvesting and threshing equipment, steam and working areas, heavy horses, stationary engines, and rural crafts.

Several events were held in the main ring, including parades of classic vehicles and competitions.

An auction was hosted by Pitcher & Associates on the Saturday morning.

A spokesperson said: “Our aim is to display and demonstrate the practices and machinery used on typical Somerset farms in the past.

“Visitors are able to see through practical demonstrations how the work was done and talk to the owners about their exhibits.”

The SSAPC holds monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at Long Sutton Village Hall near Langport.
