A MAN who admitted to being in possession of cannabis with intent to supply it in Chard has been warned he could face jail.

Sam David Osborne, 27, of Lyme Road, Axminster was charged that on November 10 last year at Chard he was in possession of a quantity of cannabis (class B) with intent to supply to another.

At a hearing at Taunton Crown Court on Tuesday (August 28) Osborne, who represented himself, pleaded guilty to the charge.

Natasha Woolacott, 22, of Penny’s Meade, Ilton, pleaded not guilty to the same charge.

Prosecuting Nigel Wraith said: "The Crown accepts Osbourne's guilty plea and Woolacott's not guilty plea and we would be happy if we could resolve Woolacott's case on the same day as Osborne is sentenced."

Judge Paul Cook agreed to Mr Wraith's suggestion and adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report.

"It looks as though you were before the court the day before these offences occurred," Judge Cook said.

"You could be facing immediate imprisonment.

"I suggest you get some legal advice but it is entirely your choice.

"Woolacott we will resolve your case on the same day as Osborne's sentencing but you do not need to attend court.

"Your bail will run out as of today."

Judge Cook ordered Osborne to appear at Taunton Crown Court on September 24 for sentencing.

Osborne was released on unconditional bail.
