WITH the winter season now well under way, a doctor’s surgery in Chard is offering free health checks.
Springmead surgery will offer the health checks for people aged between 40 and 74, and are part of a national programme to help improve the health and wellbeing of residents.
The checks will inform people of their risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease or suffering a stroke.
Each check takes 30 minutes, and will test blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and lifestyle assessments, and are carried out by a healthcare professional.
People who are not registered patients at the surgery are also welcome to attend.
