A BARN fire in Chard was believed to have been started deliberately.
Four fire enginses from Chard, Ilminster and Axminster, and the water carrier from Yeovil were sent to reports of a barn on fire in Shepherds Lane at 9.59pm last night.
On arrival, the incident commander confirmed a small amount of hay on fire within an agricultural building.
Two of the fire engines and the water carrier were returned to their stations as they were not required.
Twp breathing apparatus, drag forks, compressed air foam and buckets of water were used to tackle the fire.
A small amount of hay was damaged by the fire, and crews believe the cause of the fire was deliberate.
