MARRIED at St Thomas Church, Cricket St Thomas on May 12, were Thomas George Barnes of Halcombe, Chard, and Rebecca Clair Macmillan of Cricket St Thomas.

Mr David Savill conducted the service.

The bridegroom, a maintenance worker at Cricket St Thomas Hotel, is the only son of Ron and Lynn Barnes of Russell Pope Avenue, Chard. The bride, who works at Oscar Mayer, is the only daughter of Ian and Steph Macmillan of Cricket St Thomas.

Given away by her father, Rebecca wore an ivory strapless dress with black and silver embroidery detail, and carried a teardrop style bouquet of ivory calla lilies and dark red roses with diamante and black crystal beads.

Her attendants were Emily Macmillan (bride's half sister) and Dana Pas (groom's niece), who wore ivory dresses with organza sashes and flower decoration. Emily carried a sheaf of calla lilies and sparkling stars, while Dana carried a wand with one calla lily.

The ring bearer was Carl Pas (groom's nephew).

Thomas' best men were Martyn and Michael Slyfield, and the ushers were Sam Macmillan (bride's half brother), and Sam Barnes (groom's cousin).

A drinks reception was held at Hamiltons, Cricket St Thomas, followed by a wedding breakfast for 110 guests. An evening party for 150 people was held in the Tythe Barn with entertainment provided by Old Dogz New Trix.

A short honeymoon was spent in Staffordshire.
